Evening Prayers

May 3, 2011

At least once a week or so, one of the boys says something pretty cute during their bedtime prayer. Tonight they were both cute.

Bruiser’s Prayer:

I reminded him to pray for a lady in our church who is in pain and has been awaiting hip surgery for quite some time now.

“…and fank you for take away Mrs. Weber’s hip and Mommy’s hip and Daddy’s hip and wait…Mommy, do you have hips?”

“yes, I have hips.”

“and for take away Mommy’s hips and Daddy’s hips and…”

I’ll spare you the rest. He has a tendency to speak in circles of repetition.

Monkey’s Prayer:

“…Please help the bird’s sniffers to work well so they can find our seeds and we can see lots more birds.”

I love that he knows that birds don’t have noses like we do, so he just called them ‘sniffers.’

Sometimes it’s very hard not to laugh all the way through their prayers! I could probably make this a weekly topic…

Can he pray for my hips to go away? That’d be nice.
