Getaway

May 4, 2011

My apologies for the absence lately. I’ve got a list of posts in the queue, but the time to tap them out just hasn’t been there.

Its been a few weeks now since the boys and I went on our “little” trip to SC to visit their sister (who they call Noonah) at her college. (FYI, Lois is a student from South Korea who became part of our family while living with us during her last two years of high school.)

We stayed with a high-school friend of mine while we were down there. Playing with new kids & toys was just about as fun as getting to see Noonah again for my boys.

On the first visit to BJU, the boys fell in love with the water fountains. It was required that we visit the fountains every time after that.

I let Monkey man the camera so I could enjoy catching up with Lois while we walked around campus. His photography always gives me a new inspiration. The angle at which he views the world is so much different than mine.

Sometimes it’s a not-so-attractive nostril shot of his mother on a windy day:

And the next minute, the same 3-foot shooter snaps an attractive picture like this one of Lois’s friend:

(Both of his pictures are uncropped, unedited).

Right after the fountains, the next favorite activity was playing subway or bus stop on Noonah’s bunk.

The driver picked up the passengers, who climbed into the empty bed below for the ride…and then fell out.

Repeat 20x.

On the day Noonah had to go to class, we hung out with my friend and her boys at the Greenville Zoo and playground.

The lion says:

“ROOAAAR!!!!”

Back at the college, Noonah took her handsome dates up to play some games.

It was a real struggle to keep Bruiser’s voice at a non-obnoxious level. That kid is just so loud!

Sure he looks tranquil here…that’s when I can get a picture of him. All the other times I’m chasing him around trying to get him to walk nicely and stay by me. Oi, that Bruiser!

After picking up some souvenirs from the bookstore and munching on a snack while waiting for Noonah’s last class to finish, Bruiser spotted some miniscule ants on the bricks that held his attention for just long enough.

We tried to get a nice group picture, but that just wasn’t happening. At least I got one of Noonah with each of her brothers.

The loving & sweet one:

And the energetic & crazy one:

We love you Noonah!

Praying for you during your last few crazy days!

I know “noona’s” friend! She’s from up here. Was Lois up here at Christmastime? Anyway…just a random fact. đŸ™‚

@ Amy – Yes, I stayed at the Bird’s over the Christmas break. Do you go to the same church with Carrie?
